Base to Final - Fatal

Knew Jim for over 30 years. Flying out of KDLZ. To low, to slow.
Crashed and burned to death. Responders were there withing one minute
and could not get him out as the fames were too intense. He was alive
sitting in the aircraft. If it were not for the flame damage in the
cockpit, the aircraft looked perfect.

Terrible

DLZ is an uncontrolled airport, there is no control tower.
